Week 2 Status Report
Hi Team,
We had a small meeting last night, but I need everyone to post your progress so far with any questions or issues you see in the WBS. Please post your comments on the blog.
One of the deliverables is the status report. The status report is compiled from the status of everyone on the team after each milestone status meeting. I need everyone to comment on their status s that we can document the current status of the project.
We will not have a meeting tonight, but instead please post your comments.
Thanks,
Gene
Status Update:
Accomplishments:
- Completed preliminary UML models.
- Configured web server and database server.
- Coordinated the technical team’s Analysis Phase deliverables.
- Completed preliminary technical WBS.
Risks/Issues:
- Issue: The web server is quite old. The .NET platform that it is using is 5 years old (ASP.NET 1.1), which in IT terms is an eternity. What this means is that if we use the professor’s web server, we will not be able to leverage the productivity enhancements of ASP.NET 3.5, which could throw off our project timeline. I’ve already been communicating with the professor about this, and he has agreed that the best thing to do would be to use another web server.
- Solution: I have set up a new environment on a free ASP.NET 3.5 web host. This is provided by AspSpider.net. I may be able to set up some kind of URL-forwarding, so that the move is transparent to the end user. However, this effort does not seem necessary from a grade perspective. The professor seems flexible and understands the situation well. The following are his own words:
“…note that I can be flexible..if you want to work on a local IIS host (your PC) that is OK with me. I can then install the software on my desktop and test out the code.”

I am sorry team, I was away on an assignment, we had a crisis ……
I would post the Critical Path Analysis (CPA) later today or tomorrow unfailingly.
What I have basically done is try to highlight the tasks, the progress etc. The CPA would give a concise summary of the core tasks.
Kindly post your comments and feel free to adjust, please let the team know the adjustments.
Thank You
Oge

I have looked at the project schedule again and don’t think we need a CPA. It is a short project and no major deviations or crisis forseen. we didn’t loose any resource or person hours. So far the project is on time we don’t need the CPA. But if you believe otherwise, do kindly let me know.
Thanks a lot
Oge
