BU PMP Site Functionality proposal

The site should have a blog such as the one we are using for communication

The site should have advertising space for Ad sense to raise money for site maintenance

A Survey widget to poll student opinions on various issues

A news widget that will have a compilation of RSS feeds from various PMP related sites

A news widget to scroll the financial and IT news of the day

A discussion board, not a blog, one that will have various topics that can be discussed by members who are logged in

A scrollbar showing the newest members to the site

A photo gallery of BU PMP events

A calendar for the BU PMP events

Profile pages for every member of the PMP BU site

The profile pages are allowed to be customized with CSS by individual students

A widget for every student that figures out the 1st, 2nd and 3rd degree connections for the student

  1. I’ll post the Scope Statement here around 8 for eveyone to take a look before I submit it. With the new deadline it looks as though I can submit one scope for everyone

  2. Hey Gene, I like the list of the proposed functionalities you have provided, they are all excellent idea!

    I have some ideas to add these additional functionalities to the list:
    * Event reminder (ie: graduation date, class drop off date, assignment due date, etc)
    * Weather forecast reminder (ie: on the “graduation date”, it will be raining make sure to bring your umbrella)
    * New member invitation feature (to increase more members)
    * Hot deals (ie: http://www.fatwallet.com)
    * Ice breaker features to help members make friends (ie: http://icebreaker.mobi/crushorflush.htm)
    * Online briefcase
    * Hot job (internal – jobs that have not been publicized)
    * Functionality customization feature (once logged in, members are allowed to customize the desired widget/feature)

  5. How about a search functionality that will give a definition of words related to PM
    I am thinking also about a page for the PMI standards.
    thanks,

  6. I would add links that takes them to other PM sites, such as resource links.

    –I would add a section for a gallery that enables users to view either it in slide show mode or plain view.

    –A better banner using CSS to intise users to join.

  7. Hello,
    As Edaviles suggested if we have a link to the PM site we don’t need one for the global standards because it is there already.
    thanks,
    Djanwari

  8. A mission statement, benefits and incentives of the program and certification.
    Program objectives and requirements.
    Courses offered and the duration of the program.
    A concise information of the program.
    Most times, a student logs on to a site more so to find detailed information regarding the program, how the program would meet his/her needs and objectives etc.
